The Blue Week, held from 6 to 13 June 2023, was an initiative organised in cooperation with Green Balanced. The aim of the week was to minimise the environmental impact of the shipment of goods and point the way towards greater sustainability and environmental awareness. In its latest partnership, Sortimo offset the 10 tonnes of CO2 emissions generated by the shipment of goods via reforestation and forest adaptation initiatives through Green Balanced.
Green Balanced is a brand-new project launched by the Mobil Automobile Club in Germany e.V. in conjunction with BayWa AG, which is committed to sustainable CO2 compensation. Green Balanced wants to do more to promote climate neutrality. That's why, it is planting trees and reforesting woodland in Europe, thereby drawing down CO2 out of the atmosphere, binding it in the long term, and sustainably offsetting it. The Green Balanced project enables companies, such as Sortimo, to compensate for their CO2 emissions, and at the same time promote active protection of the environment.
“Our collaboration with Green Balanced has enabled us to further reinforce our responsibility for environmental conservation and make a specific contribution to reducing our carbon footprint. Compensating for the 10 tonnes of CO2 emissions produced during the Blue Week is an important step towards sustainability. It also illustrates Sortimo’s commitment to protecting the environment,” stresses Thomas Unger, Head of Global Marketing and Sales at Sortimo.
Sortimo is proud to be having a positive impact on the environment and is also keen to develop and implement sustainable solutions in future.
